Volleyball Recap: Westerville South Takes a Loss

The Westerville South Wildcats didn't have quite enough to beat the Big Walnut Golden Eagles on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Westerville South took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 24-26, 14-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Their offense was headlined by Leo Harden and Riley Payne, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from David Mowery and his 43 assists. Finally, Harden was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Tyler Young, who had 14 digs. Cameron Parry was another key player, getting ten digs and one assist.

Westerville South's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Big Walnut, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-2.

Westerville South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Dublin Scioto on the 3rd. As for Big Walnut, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Worthington Kilbourne on the 3rd.
