Baseball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen West Beats Morristown-Hamblen East for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Morristown-Hamblen West had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Gavin Mitchell made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Charles Dewald was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Paxton Seal was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Morristown-Hamblen West's record now sits at 12-4. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13-1 record this season.
