Baseball Game Preview: Pomona Red Devils vs. Ganesha Giants

Pomona is 1-9 against Ganesha since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Devils will take on the Giants at 3:30 p.m. Pomona has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Edgewood hit Pomona with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils came up short against the Lions, falling 11-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Red Devils were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, while Ganesha put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Bassett. The Giants were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Olympians. The result was nothing new for the Giants, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Ganesha and bumps their season record up to 14-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Pomona, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-8-1.

Pomona suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Ganesha in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
