Softball Game Preview: Deering Rams vs. Marshwood Hawks

Deering is 0-7 against Marshwood since May of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Rams will welcome the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Deering is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Wednesday. They came up short against Thornton Academy, falling 18-7.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Marshwood duked it out with Windham on Wednesday. The Hawks lost 25-2 to the Eagles. The Hawks just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Marshwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Noonan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. That double was Noonan's first of the season.

Marshwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Deering, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Deering might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from Marshwood in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
