It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wilcox County had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-44 victory over the Portal Panthers. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their 23rd in a row.

Tyliah Benjamin was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 19 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 18 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zariah Martin, who posted 14 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Wilcox County's win was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. As for Portal, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-12.

Looking ahead, Wilcox County will face off against Taylor County on Friday. Wilcox County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Taylor County likes a good challenge. Portal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
