Volleyball Recap: Savannah Comes Up Short

If Savannah was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lafayette on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Savages lost 3-0 to the Pembroke Hill Raiders on Tuesday. The Savages were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Savannah was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-20, 25-18.

Taylor Hilsabeck paced Savannah's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hilsabeck got some help from Reece Gould and her 30 assists.

Lochlar O'Bleness was nothing short of spectacular for Pembroke Hill: she had 23 digs and two aces. That's the most digs O'Bleness has posted over her last seven matches. Haley Lockton also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

The loss snapped Savannah's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record. As for Pembroke Hill, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.

Savannah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Cameron on the 18th. As for Pembroke Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Notre Dame de Sion on the 18th.
