Basketball Recap: Northfield Comes Up Short

Northfield lost against Southwood back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northfield Norsemen lost to the Southwood Knights on the road by a 55-41 margin. The Norsemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Northfield still got an impressive performance from Ty Leming, who went 6-for-8 on his way to 18 points and six boards. Leming continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Rodgers, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Northfield's record now sits at 9-11. As for Southwood, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

When Northfield and Southwood next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Northfield will take on Adams Central and their five-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southwood will try to stop Eastbrook's six-game winning streak when they meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
