Baseball Preview: Everett Seagulls vs. Monroe Bearcats
For the second straight game, Everett will face off against Monroe. The Seagulls will head out to take on the Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Everett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Everett took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Monroe by a score of 5-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Seagulls as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Owen Brunni was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Everett is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-9 otherwise. Brunni was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Isaac Blackburn was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Mac Larsen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
With the loss, Monroe broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-9. As for Everett, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
