Baseball Game Preview: Rocky Point Eagles vs. Islip Buccaneers

For the second straight game, Rocky Point will face off against Islip. The Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Buccaneers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Rocky Point has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Rocky Point needed a bit of extra time to put away Islip. They had just enough and edged out the Buccaneers 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now won eight in a row.

For Islip's part, Dylan Broschart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. Broschart has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Islip's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4. As for Rocky Point, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
