Basketball Recap: Leland Makes It Ten in a Row on the Road

Leland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against the Evergreen Valley Cougars by a score of 57-50. For the Chargers, this counts as revenge for the 76-49 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2020.

It was another big night for Steven Watson, who went 8 of 12 en route to 17 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gurkaran Khehra, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

Leland's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Evergreen Valley, they moved to 9-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
