Softball Recap: Orange Cove's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Orange Cove entered their tilt with Orosi on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 10-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Daisy Regalado made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Orange Cove let Madeline Powers and Kendra Talingo run wild. Powers went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Talingo scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave Talingo a new career-high. Ashley Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Orange Cove's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Orosi, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Cove will square off against North at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Orosi, they will face off against Farmersville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
