Softball Recap: Buffalo Comes Up Short

Buffalo extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 14-12. They came up short against the Point Pleasant Big Blacks, falling 8-0. The shutout was out of character for the Bison seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

As for Point Pleasant, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For Point Pleasant's part, they let Kyla Queen and Chloe Patrick run wild. Queen got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Patrick went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Queen has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brynn Roush, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Buffalo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-1 loss against George Washington on the 6th. As for Point Pleasant, they have also already played their next matchup, an 11-1 win against Wellston on the 8th.
