Basketball Game Preview: Pella Christian Eagles vs. Newton Cardinals

Pella Christian and Newton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Pella Christian Eagles will host the Newton Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Pella Christian was beaten by Norwalk 78-36. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pella. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Dutch are ranked 43rd).

Pella Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
