Hudsonville entered their tilt with South Lyon on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 4-2.

Evan McCoy looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kaden Howard was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 13 contests. Another player making a difference was Rickey Browley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Hudsonville pushed their record up to 19-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for South Lyon, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 15-6 record.

Looking ahead, Hudsonville will take on Grandville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Lyon, they will challenge Zeeland East at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
