Baseball Game Preview: Davenport Broncos vs. Tenoroc Titans

Davenport is a perfect 3-0 against Tenoroc since February of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Davenport and 18 for Tenoroc dating back to last season.

Davenport managed to slip by Poinciana the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Davenport lost 16-5 to Poinciana last Thursday.

Davenport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Escalera, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. Escalera is becoming a predictor of Davenport's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-11 when he doesn't). Jacob Bishop also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Tenoroc fell victim to Riverview and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They came up short against the Sharks, falling 29-0.

Davenport's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Tenoroc, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went Davenport's way against Tenoroc when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Davenport made off with a 31-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Davenport since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
