Football Recap: Calhoun Finds Home Field Redemption Against Stafford

There's no place like home for Calhoun, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Stafford Spartans on Friday as they made off with a 32-8 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sandcrabs also won the last time the pair played on Friday.

Calhoun's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. Holston Deckard led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself.

Despite the defeat, Stafford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aiden Seales picked up 103 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 72 yards on only nine carries. Those 103 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Seales.

Calhoun's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Stafford, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

Coming up, Calhoun will host Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stafford, they will head out to take on Hamshire-Fannett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
