Basketball Recap: Friona Takes a Loss

Friona lost against Idalou back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Friona Chieftans lost 53-28 to the Idalou Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Chieftans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Wildcats are ranked 94th).

Friona's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Idalou, they pushed their record up to 23-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Friona will venture away from home to square off against Slaton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Idalou, they will head out to face off against Roosevelt at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
