Basketball Recap: Blackstone-Millville Chargers vs. Hopedale Blue Raiders
The Blackstone-Millville Chargers won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They were dealt a 59-21 loss at the hands of Hopedale. Blackstone-Millville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-10.
Despite the loss, Blackstone-Millville saw an underclassman step up: Natalia Morais scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Marren Berry, who scored five points.
Blackstone-Millville's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Hopedale, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Blackstone-Millville will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Prouty is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Hopedale will take on the Woolies at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Massachusetts (Millbury is ranked 47th, while the Blue Raiders are ranked 68th).
