Recap: Calhoun Tigers vs. Leroy Bears
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Calhoun Tigers can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 40-7 loss at the hands of Leroy. While losing is never fun, Calhoun can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 377th, while Leroy is ranked 156th).
It was another big night for Malik Howell, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Jaquan Scott was in the mix too, providing Leroy with two touchdowns.
Leroy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Scott was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself.
Calhoun has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Leroy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Leroy will square off against Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Georgiana is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
