Baseball Game Preview: Springville Tigers vs. Ardmore Tigers

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Springville's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Ardmore's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Springville was able to grind out a solid win over Brookwood, taking the game 5-2.

The team relied heavily on Grant Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Bailey, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Ardmore's offense. They came up short against Lincoln County on Friday, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 8th.

Ardmore's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Springville, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

Springville was able to grind out a solid win over Ardmore in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Springville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
