Baseball Game Preview: Millbrook Wildcats vs. Knightdale Knights

Millbrook is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Knightdale a seven-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Millbrook Wildcats will be playing at home against the Knightdale Knights at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Saturday, Millbrook came up short against Hunt and fell 4-1.

Millbrook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Smith Dickinson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Knightdale's offense. They came up short against Cary on Wednesday, falling 11-0.

Millbrook's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Knightdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Knightdale's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Millbrook has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. It's a different story for Knightdale, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain Millbrook's hitters?

Everything went Millbrook's way against Knightdale in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Millbrook made off with a 20-7 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
