Volleyball Recap: Woodstock Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Woodstock Academy can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pomperaug Panthers on Wednesday. The Centaurs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 25-13.

Despite the defeat, Woodstock Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jake Henderson had 21 assists and six digs. Henderson has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 12 times he's played.

Woodstock Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Pomperaug, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Woodstock Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pomperaug, they are taking a road trip to challenge Masuk at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Masuk will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Pomperaug surely won't give up without a fight.
