Football Game Preview: Carlynton Cougars vs. Sto-Rox Vikings

The Carlynton Cougars will head out to take on the Sto-Rox Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carlynton is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Carlynton is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Waynesburg Central on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cougars were beaten by the Raiders 39-6. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-0.

Meanwhile, Sto-Rox fell victim to Seton LaSalle and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 53-0 loss at the hands of the Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while the Rebels are ranked 175th).

Sto-Rox's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Carlynton, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Carlynton against Sto-Rox when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
