Softball Recap: Cranbrook Kingswood Drops Highest Score of Season Against Detroit Cristo Rey

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cranbrook Kingswood). Everything went their way against the Detroit Cristo Rey WOLVES on Friday as they made off with a 31-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Eden Dharte was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Lola Finneran, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two triples, and one stolen base.

Cranbrook Kingswood's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Detroit Cristo Rey, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Cranbrook Kingswood will head out on the road to challenge Shrine Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Detroit Cristo Rey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parkway Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.88 runs per game on average), something the WOLVES will no doubt try to take advantage of.
