Basketball Game Preview: Concordia Prep Saints vs. St. Mary's Saints

Concordia Prep hasn't had much luck against St. Mary recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Concordia Prep Saints will square off against the St. Mary's Saints at 5:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Concordia Prep came up short against Severn School and fell 55-47. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Admirals are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, St. Mary's was able to grind out a solid win over Friends on Wednesday, taking the game 51-44.

St. Mary's has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Concordia Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.

Concordia Prep ended up a good deal behind St. Mary's when the teams last played back in January of 2024, losing 69-51. Can Concordia Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
