Basketball Game Preview: Idalia Wolves vs. Burlington Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Idalia Wolves will get right back to it and host the Burlington Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Burlington took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Idalia, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Idalia beat Bethune 36-26.

Meanwhile, Burlington played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Goodland and fell 69-30. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now lost seven in a row.

Burlington's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-8. As for Idalia, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

Idalia came up short against Burlington when the teams last played back in February of 2022, falling 62-57. Thankfully for Idalia, Garrett Richardson (who went 9 of 15 en route to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
