Basketball Recap: Covington Comes Up Short

Covington lost against Miami East back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Covington Buccs lost to the Miami East Vikings at home by a 60-44 margin. While losing is never fun, the Buccs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 685th, while the Vikings are ranked 333rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Covington and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Miami East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Covington has already played their next matchup, a 54-48 victory against Fairlawn on the 11th. As for Miami East, they will be playing at home against Versailles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
