Softball Recap: Tesoro Titans vs. Aliso Niguel Wolverines

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Tesoro and Aliso Niguel meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Titans fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 3-2. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Loula McNamara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tesoro saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dace Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Tesoro's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Aliso Niguel, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11-1 record this season.
