Softball Recap: Athens Find Success

The Athens Warriors beat the Central A & M Raiders 7-4 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Kenzie Szoke and Jaci Derringer did most of the damage at the plate: Szoke went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Derringer went 2-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits Szoke has posted since back in April.

Athens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central A & M only posted a batting average of .267.

Athens' record now sits at 18-9. As for Central A & M, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-11.

Looking ahead, Athens will head out on the road to take on Lincolnwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central A & M, they will welcome Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
