South Beloit's Robertson Reaches 3,000 Points

South Beloit senior scores 36 points to become sixth boys basketball player in IHSA history to reach 3,000-career points.

South Beloit senior Ross Robertson scored 36 points in a 68-61 win over Yorkville Christian on Friday to become the sixth player in IHSA history to surpass 3,000-career points. He also grabbed 16 rebounds in the win, which improved the SoBos record to 26-5. Robertson finished the night with 3,010 points. His 3,000th point came on a fourth quarter free throw with 4:14 to play.

Illinois' all-time leading scorer is Charles Vaughn who scored 3,358 points at Egyptian (Tamms) High School from 1954-1958. Vaughn twice scored over 1,000 points in a season (junior and senior).

South Beloit's next game is Monday against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy (Rockford).
