Baseball Game Preview: Grape Creek Eagles vs. Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Grape Creek hasn't scored more than a single run for six games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Grape Creek fell victim to Jim Ned and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 14-0.

Grape Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Kluesner, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Trinity on Tuesday and fell 8-7.

Troy Caylor was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Grape Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything went Grape Creek's way against Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy in their previous meeting back in March, as Grape Creek made off with a 13-0 victory.
