Preview: Alden-Conger Knights vs. LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals
The Alden-Conger Knights will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. One thing working in Alden-Conger's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Even though Madelia scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Alden-Conger still came out on top. Alden-Conger took their match against Madelia 70-62.
Meanwhile, LeRoy-Ostrander's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 74-42 loss at the hands of Lyle/Pacelli. That's two games in a row now that LeRoy-Ostrander has lost by exactly 32 points.
Despite the loss, LeRoy-Ostrander got a solid performance out of Camden Hungerholt, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That was a full 40.5% of LeRoy-Ostrander's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ryder Stern, who scored two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The win got Alden-Conger back to even at 13-13. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, they dropped their record down to 6-16 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Alden-Conger took their victory against LeRoy-Ostrander in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 81-56. Will Alden-Conger repeat their success, or does LeRoy-Ostrander have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
