Softball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mitchell and Parrish Community squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mitchell had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulls by a score of 4-3. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Madyson Whitaker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Hencz, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Parrish Community, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season.

Mitchell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parrish Community, they will face off against Pace at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Bulls surely won't give up without a fight.
