Baseball Recap: Cascade Find Success

The Cascade Cougars were able to grind out a solid victory over the Pleasant Hill Billies on Wednesday, taking the game 5-1.

Slade Hudson was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Cascade's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Hudson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hans Kamm, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. RG Majors also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cascade now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pleasant Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cascade will welcome Crook County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pleasant Hill, they will take on Stayton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Billies surely won't give up without a fight.
