After a string of five wins, the Victory Christian Academy Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Rancho Buena Vista 63-58. Victory Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rancho Buena Vista apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derek Edmond, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Gray, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals.

Rancho Buena Vista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cj Aldrich, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Aldrich has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trent Lotito, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.

Victory Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Rancho Buena Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. As for Rancho Buena Vista, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canyon Crest Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon Crest Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 587th, while Rancho Buena Vista is ranked 159th).
