Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Middle Creek). Everything went their way against the Cary Imps on Tuesday as they made off with  a  17-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their one-run performance the  game before.
 Hailey Hoeft made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Kristen Norton was a standout: she got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with four  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Those  four  runs gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Madelyn Herndon, who  went 2-for-3 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 Middle Creek  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .657. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Middle Creek has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cary, their defeat was  their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-14.
 Middle Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  5-4  loss against Apex on the 25th. As for Cary, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  15-0  defeat against Pinecrest on the 23rd.
