Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Johnston). They took down the Southern Wayne Saints 68-51 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 65-44 on January 9th.

EJ Wilkins had a dynamite game for West Johnston, as he made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc for 20 points and six rebounds. Those 20 points gave Wilkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Ellington, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points.

West Johnston was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Southern Wayne's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dorien Toussian, who posted ten points along with six boards and three steals, and Jayden Moore, who earned ten points and eight rebounds. Moore has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Demetrius Elliot, who put up nine points.

West Johnston's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-10. As for Southern Wayne, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

West Johnston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-35 loss against South Johnston on the 30th. As for Southern Wayne, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-62 win against C.B. Aycock on the 29th.
