Baseball Recap: Upland Highlanders/Scots vs. Los Osos Grizzlies

Upland extended their losing streak to eight on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 4-16 in the process. They came up short against the Los Osos Grizzlies, falling 10-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Monday.

Julian Zambrano was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As for Los Osos, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6. Considering they have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Los Osos' side, they got a great performance from Jordan Mejico as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Mejico has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Wyatt Mohler was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Roberto Topete, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double.

While Upland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
