Basketball Recap: Sadie Mancha Key Part of a Team Effort in Indians Win

Harlandale won the last time they faced Southwest Legacy and things went their way on Friday too. The Harlandale Indians were the clear victor by a 64-41 margin over the Southwest Legacy Titans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Harlandale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sadie Mancha led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. What's more, Mancha also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Kamila Sosa was another key player, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.

Harlandale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Southwest Legacy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Garnelle Zor, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards, and LaNiya Pollard, who posted six points and ten rebounds. That was a full 48.8% of Southwest Legacy's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Milagros Martinez, who put up six points and seven boards.

Harlandale is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Southwest Legacy, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-22.

Harlandale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 85-61 loss against McCollum on the 22nd. Southwest Legacy has also already played their next contest, a 74-36 victory against Winn on the 21st.
