Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Lions vs. Fayette Academy Vikings

The Trinity Christian Academy Lions can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fayette Academy 79-43 on the road. Given Trinity Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Vikings are ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lekhy Thompkins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Thompkins continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe Lee, who scored 18 points along with four steals.

Fayette Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Miles Dawkins and Zane Pike. Dawkins scored 13 points, while Pike scored 11 points.

Trinity Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Fayette Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.

Trinity Christian Academy will challenge the Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. University School of Jackson is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games. As for Fayette Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
