Basketball Recap: Washington Gets the Win

Washington won against Fairfield on Friday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Demons walked away with a 53-41 victory over the Grinnell Tigers. For the Demons, this counts as revenge for the 34-31 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Washington and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Grinnell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Washington will take on Mt. Pleasant in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Demons will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Grinnell, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Clear Creek-Amana at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
