Football Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for Fresno Christian

With a playoff win on the line, Fresno Christian rose to the challenge on Friday. They claimed a resounding 74-20 win over the Orcutt Academy Spartans. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

Fresno Christian was led to victory by Tycen Ramirez and Alex Asatrian. Ramirez threw for 243 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes, while Asatrian gained 220 total yards and five touchdowns. Asatrian got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 74 yards. Hayden Spurrier helped Ramirez out on the ground, rushing for 66 yards and a pair of TDs.

Fresno Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 326 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Fresno Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ethan Meyer and Elijah Corrao. Corrao has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times he's played.

The victory keeps Fresno Christian at an undefeated 10-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 59.1 points this season. As for Orcutt Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Fresno Christian will square off against Laton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. Orcutt Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
