It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Elizabethtown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Lower Dauphin Falcons 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for the Bears as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Elizabethtown has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lower Dauphin, they moved to 16-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Elizabethtown will head out to take on Lampeter-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. Lower Dauphin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
