Softball Recap: Kalida's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Kalida's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the Holgate Tigers 8-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Mia Burgei, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Bockrath, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Kalida was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Kalida's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Holgate, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Kalida has already played their next game (against Leipsic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Holgate, they will head out to take on McComb at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
