Baseball Recap: Sacramento Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Sacramento, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over the San Juan Spartans on Thursday. With that win, the Dragons brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Jaylen Crump made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sacramento is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Crump was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

In other batting news, Sacramento let Tyrone Archie and Darius Jenkins run wild. Archie went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Jenkins scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those four RBI gave Archie a new career-high. Keelan Hall also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Sacramento now has a winning record of 5-4. As for San Juan, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Sacramento will have a chance to go back-to-back against San Juan: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
