Basketball Game Preview: Rockford East E-Rabs vs. Guilford Vikings

The Rockford East E-Rabs will venture away from home to square off against the Guilford Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Rockford East made easy work of Boylan Catholic and carried off a 52-32 victory. Given the E-Rabs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Titans are ranked 564th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Guilford beat Stevenson 58-52 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Rockford East is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points over those games. As for Guilford, their win was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-4.

Rockford East couldn't quite finish off Guilford in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 54-51. Can Rockford East avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
