Baseball Game Preview: American Canyon Wolves vs. Casa Grande Gauchos

For the second straight game, American Canyon will face off against Casa Grande. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gauchos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. American Canyon has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while Casa Grande will come in with four straight victories.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for American Canyon's offense. They came up short against Casa Grande on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

For Casa Grande's part, Brady Laubscher made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Laubscher has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Luke Bell was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Max Drumm, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Casa Grande always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Canyon only posted an OBP of .286.

Casa Grande's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for American Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
