Flatirons Academy breezed by Dayspring Christian Academy at home to the tune of 71-37. Flatirons Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 33 points or more this season.
Flatirons Academy found their leader in underclassman Pistol Chavez, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Chavez has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trey Abeyta, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Dayspring Christian Academy had strong showings from Cam Gomez, who scored seven points along with five rebounds, and Max Krehbiel, who scored seven points.
Flatirons Academy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Bishop Machebeuf at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bishop Machebeuf focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
