Softball Game Preview: Leroy Bears vs. Blacksher Bulldogs

The Leroy Bears will take on the Blacksher Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Leroy barely beat Washington County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 16-6 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Meanwhile, Blacksher made easy work of Theodore on Saturday and carried off a 9-2 victory.

Blacksher let Emeri Ikner and Laney Saucer run wild. Ikner went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Saucer went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Saucer is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Moira Gleeson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Blacksher was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Blacksher's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Leroy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
