Basketball Recap: Avalon Black Knights vs. New Hope Academy Regional Tigers
On Thursday, the Avalon Black Knights didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the New Hope Academy Regional Tigers, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win.
Avalon was led to victory by Messiah Manning and Jordan Fox. Manning scored nine points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds, while Fox went 6 for 13 en route to 16 points plus five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Wisdom Martin, who scored eight points in addition to six rebounds and two steals.
Avalon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for New Hope Academy Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avalon will venture away from home to take on St. Andrew's Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Hope Academy Regional, they and DC International will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
